Have you ever thought about helping to make a wish come true for a local child? If you have, there are a few outstanding ways you can make a difference, and we may have the perfect idea for you: The Tampa Bay Walk For Wishes and The Make-A-Wish Wishmaker’s Ball in Orlando are two ways that you can help Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida grant the wish of a child in your community.
Walk For Wishes In Tampa On May 8
The Tampa Bay Walk For Wishes will be held in Downtown Tampa at Curtis Hixon Park from 6-9 p.m. There is a $25 registration fee of $20 if you register before January 31. After reaching the $100 fundraising milestone, participants will receive the official Tampa Bay Walk For Wishes 2014 T-shirt and will be eligible for contests and prizes. For every $100 raised, your name will be entered into a drawing for special trips, prizes and high-end items.
You can register online, donate to a participant or make a general donation to support the event. There are several sponsorship opportunities available as well: Title Sponsor ($25,000), Wish Sponsor ($7,000), Gold Sponsor ($5,000), Silver Sponsor ($3,000), Bronze Sponsor ($1,500) and Friend Sponsor ($500).
A Night Of Making Wishes
Saturday, May 31 will be the 20th Annual Wishmaker’s Ball. It’s Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida’s signature gala and their largest fundraiser. Once again to be held at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Hilton Bonnet Creek (14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Lane in Orlando), the evening will include dinner, silent and live auctions, and special appearances by Make-A-Wish Wish Kids.
One of the highlights of the evening is the raffle to be upgraded to a VIP Table for the evening, which includes the best seats in the house, personal butler service, upgraded menu and exclusive gifts and prizes.
The ball starts at 6 p.m. with the cocktail hour and silent auction. The program ends at 10 p.m., but not the fun – that’s when the curtain raises on the After Party!
Tickets for the festivities are $350 each, and tables of 10 are $3,500. Live auction items include a 5-night all-inclusive stay for three couples at Kessler Canyon in DeBeque, Colo. Silent auction items include sports memorabilia, travel packages and dining experiences.
Granting Wishes Has Never Been Easier
Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida has helped grant wishes to more than 3,500 kids since 1994. If you are unable to attend this exciting event, there are still other ways for you to make wishes come true for local kids in your community. You can always donate a car, truck, SUV, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Wheels For Wishes, benefiting Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida.
Call and talk to our experienced donation professionals at 1-877-709-9474, or fill out our online donation form. Either way, when you donate your vehicle to Wheels For Wishes, we will pick up or tow away your vehicle, anywhere in Central and Northern Florida. Earned proceeds from recycling or auctioning your vehicle will benefit Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida.
